In this role, you will be responsible for welding, painting, and finishing metal structures with precision and attention to detail. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality, durable fencing solutions that meet client specifications and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and spray painting processes to produce visually appealing and structurally sound fences and gates. Responsibilities Perform welding operations using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately assemble fences and gates. Measure metal materials using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer; then spray paint or finish fences and gates to achieve desired aesthetics and corrosion resistance. Use plasma cutters, power tools, machining equipment, and sheet metal fabrication techniques for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components. Follow safety protocols diligently while operating machinery, handling materials, and performing welding or painting tasks. Collaborate with team members on assembly processes, quality control inspections, and adherence to project timelines. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, equipment, and materials efficiently throughout each shift. Experience Proven construction site experience working with metal fabrication projects such as fences and gates. Hands-on experience with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding in a fabrication shop setting. Familiarity with interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, ASME codes & standards, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Skilled in using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Knowledge of spray painting techniques specific to metal surfaces along with surface preparation methods. Ability to read shop math accurately for fabrication measurements; basic math skills are essential. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials such as sheet metal and structural steel components.
