  • Paid Time OffThe Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting heavy equipment components and assembled units, including grapple trucks, grapple loaders, and knuckle boom loaders.
This role ensures high-quality finishes that meet company standards for durability, corrosion resistance, and appearance while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, blasting, masking, and applying fillers as needed. Mix and apply paints, primers, and coatings using spray guns and other application methods. Apply industrial coatings to metal parts and fully assembled heavy equipment. Inspect finished surfaces to ensure proper coverage, thickness, and quality standards. Maintain paint equipment, booths, and tools in safe working condition. Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials and ventilation systems. Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and coating specifications. Perform touch-ups and rework as necessary. Track materials usage and maintain accurate production records. Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to meet production deadlines. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED (required). 2+ years of experience in industrial or automotive painting (heavy equipment experience preferred). Knowledge of surface preparation, coating applications, and finishing techniques. Ability to use spray painting equipment and related tools. Basic understanding of OSHA safety standards and hazardous material handling. Preferred Qualifications Experience painting heavy-duty trucks or construction equipment. Familiarity with epoxy, urethane, and powder coating systems. Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings. Certifications & Licenses OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification (preferred; may be required upon hire). Respirator Fit Test Certification (required or must be obtained upon hire). Forklift Operator Certification (preferred or required depending on facility needs). Hazard Communication (HazCom) Training (required; typically employer-provided). Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift). Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds regularly; occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance or equipment. Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders or platforms. Manual dexterity to operate spray guns and hand tools. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, coveralls, gloves, and eye protection. Tolerance for exposure to paint fumes, dust, noise, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, and airborne particulates. Work is done in paint booths and on the production floor. Must adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
