Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Automotive Painter to join our collision repair team. The Automotive Painter is responsible for producing high-quality, factory-level finishes while maintaining efficiency, consistency, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands modern refinishing systems, and is comfortable working on a variety of vehicles, including high-end and luxury automobiles. Responsibilities Prepare and refinish vehicles according to manufacturer and shop quality standards. Mix, match, and apply automotive paint using manufacturer-approved paint systems. Perform color matching, tinting, blending, and refinishing to achieve seamless repairs. Properly apply primers, basecoats, clearcoats, and other refinishing materials. Inspect vehicles and panels prior to painting to ensure surfaces are properly prepared. Identify and correct paint defects, imperfections, and color-match issues. Mask and protect adjacent panels, trim, glass, and other vehicle components as necessary. Maintain proper paint booth operation and cleanliness. Follow repair orders, estimates, and manufacturer procedures. Work closely with body technicians, prep technicians, estimators, and management to keep repairs moving efficiently. Maintain organized and clean work areas, tools, and equipment. Follow all OSHA, environmental, hazardous-material, and shop safety procedures. Meet production goals while maintaining exceptional workmanship and quality. Perform final quality inspections of completed refinishing work before vehicles move to the next stage of production. Qualifications Previous professional automotive painting/refinishing experience required. Strong knowledge of automotive paint systems, color matching, blending, and refinishing techniques. Ability to produce high-quality finishes with minimal rework. Experience working in a collision repair/body shop environment preferred. Experience with luxury, exotic, or high-end vehicles is a plus. Ability to read and understand repair orders and paint-related procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work around vehicles. Ability to lift and carry automotive parts, equipment, and materials as required.
