Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Painter - Cabinet Finisher to join our manufacturing team dedicated to producing high-quality cabinetry and custom finishes. In this role, you will be responsible for applying coatings, paints, and finishes to cabinetry components, ensuring they meet rigorous quality standards and aesthetic specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial painting techniques, surface preparation, and safety protocols, contributing to efficient production processes and outstanding product quality. Duties Prepare surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and surface treatment to ensure optimal coating adhesion and finish quality. Operate spray guns, including airless paint sprayers and conventional spray equipment, to apply coatings uniformly on cabinet surfaces. Interpret production documents such as work orders, blueprints, and process specifications to execute finishing tasks accurately. Use precision measuring instruments and visual color comparison tools to verify color consistency and coating thickness. Handle materials safely using personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and protective clothing, adhering strictly to safety protocols. Perform fabrication tasks related to finishing processes, including assembly of components prior to coating. Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment, including powder coating booths and spray guns, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Utilize hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and welding tools as needed for surface preparation or minor repairs. Support warehouse operations by handling materials efficiently with forklift or crane assistance when necessary. Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste during production finishing. Qualifications Proven experience in industrial painting, focus on cabinetry or furniture finishing. Familiarity with construction painting surface preparation techniques and coating application methods. Ability to interpret technical drawings, production documents, and specifications accurately. Mechanical aptitude with experience operating spray guns, hand tools, power tools, Basic math skills for measuring coatings thickness and component dimensions reliably. Experience working in manufacturing environments with an emphasis on quality standards in production. Strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to work efficiently within a team-oriented setting.
