Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required 1 year of painting experience

Position Purpose:

The Aircraft Painter I prepares the aircraft for paint-related operations by performing tasks safely within schedule while meeting quality expectations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Aircraft Preparation:

Mask, sand, and prepare aircraft for paint application.

Glazing and Sealing:

Apply glazing and sealing compounds in preparation for final painting.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

Operate and maintain all types of preparation and priming equipment. Mix paints and primers.

Leading Edge Sealant Work:

Perform leading edge sealant work in final detail.

Safety and Compliance:

Comply with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Use personal protective equipment and ensure aircraft interior is protected (PTP).

Additional Functions:

Equipment and Tool Maintenance:

Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned.

Standard Practices Compliance:

Comply with Paint shop standard practices.

Other Requirements:

Paint Process Knowledge:

A working knowledge of paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics).

Language:

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Blueprint Interpretation:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.

Physical Requirements:

Able to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification, climb ladders and stairs, perform close tolerance work, work in small spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.

Computer Literacy:

Must be computer literate. Must be US Citizen or have work authorization Uniform Policy

Uniform Requirements:

Purchase uniforms from designated supplier (CINTAS).

Interim Attire:

Wear navy-blue shirt/t-shirt and blue work pants/shorts (no denim) prior to receiving uniforms.

Suggested Items:

3 T-Shirts 3 Flat front pants 2 Face masks (in case the mask mandate returns)

Safety Shoes:

Steel-toed shoes required for job duties.
