Blast & Prep Technician

Sunset Powder Coating is a fast-growing powder coating and sandblasting shop in Winder, GA. We serve commercial and individual customers with high-quality coating work, and we're expanding our production team to keep up with demand. We run a clean, organized shop with clear processes , and we invest in people who take pride in their work.

About the role:

You'll handle the front end of our production process: blasting, prepping, and moving parts so they're ready for powder coating. This is hands-on work where quality and pace both matter. What you'll do: Operate sandblasting equipment to strip and prepare metal parts for coating Load and unload customer items, including assisting customers at drop-off and pickup Prep parts for coating: masking, plugging, hanging, and racking Inspect parts for surface quality before they move to the coating stage Keep blast and prep areas clean, organized, and stocked Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use What we're looking for: Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to lift 75+ lbs and stand for extended periods Attention to detail: surface prep quality directly determines finish quality Willingness to learn and follow documented processes Forklift or materials handling experience is a plus, but not required Experience with sandblasting, powder coating, auto body, fabrication, or general shop labor is a plus We will train the right person.
