Job Title:
Industrial Painter Job Description Join our team as an Industrial Painter on the 1st shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime starting at 5 AM when needed. You will be responsible for painting pumps and parts while adhering to all procedures. This role involves operating and maintaining an abrasive shot blast booth with a media reclamation system and a pressure feed spray gun paint booth. Additionally, you will cross-train in assembly and logistics. Responsibilities Perform final touch-up painting of assembled pumps when necessary. Follow company health and safety rules and demonstrate safe working practices. Work to improve efficiency and achieve productivity and delivery goals. Organize and maintain personal and company tools, equipment, and work area professionally. Adhere to all applicable company and corporate policies, procedures, and programs. Utilize hand and power tools, including scrapers, wire brushes, needle guns, grinders, pneumatic chippers, and sandpaper. Operate scissor lifts, forklifts, and compressors. Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from pump surfaces in preparation for paint application using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters. Remove accessories from equipment and mask surfaces with tape or paper to protect them from paint. Mix paints to match specifications, using spatulas or power mixing equipment. Apply paint following proper painting procedures. Monitor painting operations to identify flaws and correct their causes. Utilize instrumentation to measure painting parameters for compliance with OEM and customer standards. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment. Regulate temperature and air circulation in drying ovens and collaborate with maintenance vendors for equipment servicing. Dispose of hazardous waste appropriately. Take full ownership of the painting process, including managing stock levels of coating materials and equipment, maintaining painting equipment, and ensuring quality requirements are met. Essential Skills Proficiency in industrial painting with experience in spray gun and paint booth operations. Experience in paint prep, sanding, and industrial painting. Capability to use hand and power tools relevant to painting processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with powder coating is beneficial. While the environment is not temperature-controlled, the absence of running machines contributes to a mild temperature. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
