Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm QPS Employment Group is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter for a direct hire opportunity with a manufacturing client in Decatur, IL. This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in liquid spray or powder coating applications, particularly in industrial or automotive environments. Liquid Painter Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Prepare surfaces and materials for coating, including cleaning, masking, and staging
- Mix and prepare paints using proper ratios and measurement tools (viscosity cups, thickness gauges, gloss gauges)
- Apply coatings using spray equipment, brushes, or rollers as required
- Work with primers, base coats, and finish coatings to meet quality standards
- Handle both large and small parts, including high-value components
- Follow all safety procedures when handling paints, chemicals, and equipment, including proper PPE
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly dispose of hazardous materials
- Inspect finished products to ensure coating quality and consistency
Liquid Painter Requirements:
- Experience in liquid spray painting or powder coating in an industrial setting
- Automotive or heavy manufacturing background preferred
- Familiarity working with high-value materials and precision coatings
- Experience applying primers and finishing coats
- Ability to paint a wide range of part sizes (large and small components)
- Strong understanding of paint preparation, mixing, and application techniques
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards related to coatings and chemicals
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
- Comfortable working in a production environment
- Team player with a strong work ethic
- Safety-conscious and reliable
- Able to work independently and manage workload efficiently
