  • AND•Area 2B•All current Kentucky Army Nional Guard members Duties Help As a PAINTER•TITLE 32, WG-4102-9, you will prepare surfaces by removing rust, paint, and loose particles.
Fill in holes and dents using body fillers and hardeners. Sand and even out dents and scars to assure a smooth and level surface using sanders, scrapers, sandpaper, hand tools, wire brushes, and paint remover. Apply coings to specified areas ensuring the surfaces are free from skips, runs, and drips. Apply rustproof compound to areas. Apply coings using brushes, rollers, and spray paint equipment. Prepare coing merials using guidelines set by the manufacturer, by tinting, toning, etching, blending, and mixing in additives needed. Use measuring equipment to achieve the proper viscosity and thickness for applying the coings. Apply prime, intermedie and final cos of semi-gloss, gloss and other paint, lacquer, enamel, varnish and shellac. Ensure mch, texture and appearance meet finish requirements. Replace and apply markings/lettering as specified by manuals. Apply coings using acceptable methods of the trade. Read and interpret blueprints when applying camouflage pterns. Read and interpret directions th rele to mixture, use, and applicion of coing merials, solvents, and precoing agents. Monitor and adjust air pressures in paint booth, controls he settings and drying times in drying booth to achieve proper surface adhesion of coings. Complete records for paint usage and paint waste as per environmental regulions. Apply Chemical Agent Reactive Coing merials in accordance with specificions and dimensions. Manage workflow in paint shop as assigned by the supervisor. Confer with the customer when needed. Clean and maintain painting equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENT

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky Nional Guard. You must be assigned to a compible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudicion of a T3 or equivalent investigion. Acceptance of a Federal position may termine a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will termine Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is loced on a tobacco free facility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Qualificions
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
Experience which demonstres the knowledge of surface preparion (removal of rust, dirt, paint, etc); coing methods (brushing, rolling, and spraying); and coing merials (paints, varnishes, shellacs, etc). Must have the ability to use tools and equipment associed with the painting trade and to read and interpret directions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Must have least 18 months experience which demonstres the knowledge of any surface preparion and coing methods and techniques. Experience building up, shaping, and leveling surfaces with metal and synthetic resins, plastics, and pching compounds; obtain finely smoothed surfaces with abrasive compounds, pumice, and rottenstone; even out dents and scars by burning-in processes; and tre surfaces with pre-coing agents.
