Position Overview Our team is currently looking for a Painter for one of our clients in the Manufacturing Industry. The Painter will prep products for painting, operate paint equipment, and paint products and/or components per operating procedures and instructions. This position regularly requires work near moving mechanical parts. It occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Responsibilities & Essential Duties
- Comply with all the Clients policies and procedures to include attendance, quality, and safety.
- Must wear safety protection (when required) and adhere to safe work habits, rules, and practices, including correct use of PPE, tools, machines, safety devices, equipment, and behavior(s).
- Exhibit behaviors that contribute toward an environment that encourages teambuilding, decision making, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for quality of work performed; work efficiently and to required specifications with minimal supervision.
- Preparation of parts for paints to include masking/tapping, cleaning of parts, removal of rust and debris to provide a quality surface finish for painting preparation
- Completion of painting tasks to include minor and/or major touch-up, wiping down of parts/materials and utilizing a paint sprayer (as needed) for standard spray applications
- Ensure proper mixture of paint to include appropriate mixing ratios of hardness and multi-part paint systems, as well as cure time(s), etc.
- Always ensure a clean and orderly workplace by utilizing housekeeping and 6S standards/ practices
- Participate in CIP activities as required and
- Work in subsequent assembly areas as required/needed, such as hydro testing, pump assembly Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret instructions and drawings
- Ability to read and comprehend precision measuring equipment
- Ability to use a wide variety of hand, power, and air tools
- Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Good mechanical ability and manual dexterity is essential (able to stand for extended periods of time)
- Must have a strong work ethic and be able to follow proper safety procedures and guidelines
