Lead Powder Coat Painter Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Powder Coat Painter with advanced knowledge of powder paint systems and applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for working primarily in the paint booth, conducting powder coat painting while ensuring the highest quality of work. Responsibilities Utilize advanced knowledge of powder materials, types, properties, and storage. Operate and maintain cleaning and pretreatment systems, ensuring compliance with chemistry, testing, monitoring, maintenance, and regulatory requirements. Manage conveyance systems and their maintenance. Operate and troubleshoot powder coating application equipment and techniques. Implement part masking and hanging techniques to ensure quality, line density, and optimal transfer efficiency. Set up, maintain, and monitor cure ovens. Conduct overall automated system maintenance and troubleshooting. Understand material properties, including flatness, surface grades, types, and gauge. Assist with putting parts on and taking parts off the paint line as necessary. Demonstrate flexibility to work in other areas as needed. Essential Skills Powder coat painting experience is required. Advanced knowledge of powder paint systems and applications. Experience with cleaning and pretreatment systems. Understanding of chemical process control and tank maintenance. Proven leadership and supervisory experience. Experience with KPI/process ownership and troubleshooting manufacturing systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in industrial painting, paint prep, blasting, sanding, and spray painting. 1 year of leadership experience. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a larger manufacturing environment with an air-conditioned production floor, though it can get hot in the paint area. The schedule is Monday-Thursday from 5:00am-3:30pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
