Job Description

Steel Prep & Primer Applicator / Commercial Painter Job Summary Snyder Engineering, Inc., is a multifaceted Steel Fabrication Company involved in the fabrication of structural steel components and specializing in miscellaneous steel structures of stairs and handrails. We are currently seeking candidates for a Commercial Painter / Primer Applicator to prep and spray‑apply primer coatings to fabricated steel components in a shop environment. This role supports final product quality and daily production flow. Key Responsibilities Spray‑apply primer (and occasional finish coats) to steel components Prep surfaces: clean, sand, mask Maintain and clean spray guns and paint equipment Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance Load and secure finished parts for transport Operate forklift safely (training available) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Assist with additional shop tasks as needed Qualifications 1+ year industrial or commercial spray‑painting experience Able to lift to 75 lbs ; frequent lifting of 25-50 lbs Able to stand, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift Strong attention to detail and quality Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently or with a team Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Must pass pre‑employment physical and drug screen Preferred Skills Experience painting steel or fabricated metal components Knowledge of paint mixing and coating thickness Familiarity with fabrication or manufacturing environments Ability to track paint and supply inventory Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will be considered based on merit, qualifications, and business need.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
