FlexTrades is hiring experienced Painters for nationwide project-based manufacturing assignments supporting industrial and aerospace coating operations. This role is designed for painters who can prepare components, mix coatings, operate HVLP and air-assisted spray systems, and maintain strict quality standards throughout the painting process. Position Overview The Painter will prepare and coat large aircraft components in a paint booth environment using approved primers, topcoats and application methods. This position requires hands-on spray painting experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to verify coating thickness, viscosity and finished quality against manufacturing requirements. Responsibilities Prepare components prior to painting Mask, tape, plug and clean parts before coating Apply primers and topcoats using HVLP spray systems Operate air-assisted paint equipment Paint large aircraft components in a paint booth environment Mix paint materials according to manufacturing instructions Verify proper paint viscosity Adjust paint equipment settings based on temperature, humidity and application requirements Perform stenciling as required Complete roll-on paint applications when needed Measure coating thickness using digital gauges Use Elcometer equipment to verify coating thickness Confirm finished coatings meet required specifications and tolerances Move and position parts within the paint booth as needed Follow established safety requirements Wear required respirators, paint suits and other protective equipment Qualifications Previous painting experience in a manufacturing, aerospace or autobody environment Experience using HVLP paint guns Experience using air-assisted paint systems Ability to work from manufacturing orders and process instructions Experience mixing paint Ability to verify paint viscosity Experience measuring and inspecting coating thickness Strong attention to detail Ability to maintain established quality standards Comfortable wearing a respirator and required protective equipment Ability to stand, walk and move throughout the shift Preferred Qualifications Aerospace painting experience About FlexTrades FlexTrades is a manufacturing workforce solutions company that deploys skilled tradespeople and technical specialists to worksites across the United States.
