Job Description

Powder Coating Operator Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Powder Coating Operator for its Delhi, NY location who can work independently and/or with others as a production team member with good analytical skills. Candidate must be reliable and flexible with schedule during summer months. First and second shift available. Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to: Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with the required procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain and operate powder coat equipment and spray booth as needed. Enter accurate data into production ERP system. Sand, polish, wash, dry, and apply powder coat to products specifications. Operate ovens and measure/monitor temperatures per product specifications. Operate lift trucks and overhead cranes to move paint carts and supplies. Maintain proper respirator care/operation. Weigh paint for accurate costing. Become efficient with painting techniques to meet quality and efficiency needs. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Skills:
High attention to detail. Ability to multi-task in a busy environment, manage your time and be self-motivated. Ability to complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to use and operate power tools, ladders, and warehouse equipment safely.
Experience/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience with powder paint preferred but not required. Experience with electric, hydraulics; pneumatics and controls.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking Repetitve hand use to sand, polish, spray and bend. Frequent pushing, pulling, twisting, turning and carrying up to 80lbs. Ability to reach above the shoulder and/or outward as required. Frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching. Ability to work in a high temperature environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for paint process. (Tyvek clothing, gloves and respirator). Must participate in required medical exams such as NYS DOT physical/drug screen, 3rd party hearing test and PPE fit test (respirator medical form). The starting pay indicated represents the minimum pay for the position. The starting pay may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position's qualifications, and internal equity. The posted starting pay reflects just one component of our total benefit/rewards package.
