Thermal Spray Coating Technician Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Thermal Spray Coating Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Thermal spray techniques and equipment. This role requires the application of coatings to aerospace, commercial, and industrial parts. If you are a detail-oriented individual with a comprehensive understanding of thermal spray processes and a commitment to quality, we invite you to apply.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Thermal Spray equipment, encompassing HVOF, Plasma, and Twin-Wire Arc systems.
• Familiarity with preparation and finishing coating application procedures.
• Thorough understanding of handling parts with critical surface finish demands.
• Capability to independently apply coatings to a wide variety of parts.
• Skill in using and interpreting measurements from micrometers, thickness gauges, and other relevant instruments.
• Adherence to environmental and safety regulations, including proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Quick grasp of training material to rapidly comprehend complex processes.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English. Additional Skills (a plus):
• Experience in operating and programming 6-axis robots.
• Experience in paint type applications, preferably including HVLP spray gun techniques, with experience what Dry Fim Lube coatings.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain various Thermal Spray Equipment (HVOF, Plasma, Twin Wire Arc, etc.).
• Apply protective masking using tapes, polymers, and manufactured tooling.
• Execute meticulous surface preparation, including the removal of existing coatings, in preparation for the coating process.
• Properly configure spray equipment, tooling, and cooling fixtures within the spray booths.
• Follow parameter sheets to ensure accurate operation of spray equipment; document completed processes.
• Thoroughly inspect coatings to ensure adhesion and uniformity.
• Manage and coordinate thermal spray orders according to the production schedule.
