: This position is responsible for the tube vehicle from initial separation of the tubes, through the restoration process and again when the tubes are reloaded back on the vehicle. Vehicle electrical fixtures, identification plates and placards, parts, related hardware, and roadworthiness are also responsibilities of the position. Additionally, vehicle preparation such as sandblasting, sheet metal repairs, general appearance, keeping within the blast profile of customer specifications are required. This position requires great attention to detail, safe working habits, and the use of proper breathing apparatus. All work performed by this position must achieve the highest level of quality and accuracy.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
: Remove accessories from vehicles and mask other surfaces with tape to protect them from paint. Retrieve parts such as tie rods, endplates, etc. removed from the vehicle. Prep the units including tubes, endplates, chassis, frame, housing parts, etc. for painting. Remove grease, dirt, paint, and rust from vehicle surface in prep for paint applications. Sand the vehicle surfaces to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats. Abrasive blast chassis and/or parts to bare metal conditions. Set up portable equipment such as ladders and other equipment as needed. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble blaster and equipment. Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner. Ensure cleanliness of booths and paint storage room. Ensure paint containers follow proper storage requirements for minimizing fumes. Communicate with fellow workers and supervisors regarding job irregularities as incurred. Perform trailer final stage checkout and touch up paint as directed. Complete paperwork for each unit on which work has been performed. Ensure respirators and other breathing apparatus are clean and maintained. Maintain safe working conditions by utilizing industry and Company safety policies (wearing safety glasses, steel tip safety shoes, etc.). Other duties as assigned by supervisor which may include working in other areas of the facility.REQUIREMENTS
: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Previous experience in manufacturing or blasting, 2+ years preferred.
