Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
Participate in projects to paint Park attractions, signs, buildings, and structures Provide expert workmanship in a timely manner to meet established deadlines Prepare and paint a variety of surface types including wood, fiberglass, metal, pavement, etc. Safely and efficiently use appropriate tools and materials for each painting project Recommend and use the best painting materials available to achieve long-term results Assist with preparing project material and labor cost estimates; order materials, when needed Routinely inspect surface coatings of structures and facilities and provide recommendations to leadership for decisions related to corrosion control and painting upkeep Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests Actively maintain safety and cleanliness standards in all shop and work areas Assist all other Maintenance and trades team members with completing maintenance projects Perform duties in other areas or departments of the park, as requested All other duties and projects assigned by Maintenance or Park leadership
Education and Experience:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered Vocational or Trade School training is a plus 3-5 years of previous painting experience highly desired; Vocational training or comparable training may be considered in lieu of experience.
Language:
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with PA Child Labor Laws Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and open to close Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record Must be safety conscious and adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required Ability to interact with other team members, guests, contractors, and suppliers in a positive, professional manner Must have a thorough working knowledge of equipment used in support of painting and corrosion control Must be skilled in the application of specialty coatings including two-part mixtures, epoxy coatings, rubberized textured coating material, and high-traction coatings Ability to utilize common painting, power, and hand tools in a safe and effective manner Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time during the day Ability to frequently stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools Ability to see differences between colors and brightness Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
Working Conditions:
Frequent interaction with all outdoor and indoor areas of the park Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, and motorized equipment Subject to working at significant heights greater than 50 feet Subject to prolonged exposure to dust, dirt, paint, thinners, and other chemicals
