Manufacturing Environment Air Spray Painting Needed Responsibilities Prepare components for painting by sanding, taping, and applying body filler to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish. Read, comprehend, and work from plans, drawings, and measurements to complete paint jobs accurately. Read and use a tape measure with precision to support accurate layout and finishing work. Perform paint preparation tasks including cleaning, sanding, and priming surfaces prior to coating. Apply primer over repaired or prepared surfaces and ensure proper adhesion of topcoats. Mix paints to specified colors or original color standards, using spatulas or power mixing equipment, and adjust viscosity as needed. Operate painting and coating equipment, including air spray systems, to apply protective or decorative finishes to workpieces or products. Sand and apply sealer to properly dried surfaces to achieve the required finish quality. Buff and wax completed paint work to achieve the desired sheen and appearance. Essential Skills Hands-on air spray painting experience, including operation of painting and coating equipment. Mathematics skills sufficient to measure and mix materials accurately, including working with increments as small as 1/10 of a gram. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment or autobody shop. Exposure to industrial paint booths and paint manufacturing or paint systems. Industrial painting, industrial paint shops, or related fabrication environments. Experience with visual inspection of finished products to ensure quality standards. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00
