Job Title:
Industrial Painter Job Description We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and inspecting parts, ensuring high-quality finishes through various industrial painting processes. Responsibilities Perform general paint preparation functions including sanding, grinding, polishing, masking, and priming parts. Operate hand-held grinders and machine grinders to polish parts after painting or remove surface layers before priming and painting. Manually hang parts (up to 50 pounds) on elevated hook-conveyors or use overhead and jib cranes for heavier parts. Apply industrial coats of paint using high-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) guns. Inspect painted parts through visual inspections, checking for defects, runs in the paint, and ensuring color matching. Essential Skills Experience with paint mixing and conducting in-depth quality checks. Mechanical maintenance or preventative maintenance experience on paint chambers or systems. Industrial painting applications experience, specifically in powder coating and electrostatic application processes. Experience operating shop equipment, including hand grinders/sanders, overhead/jib cranes, hoists, and forklifts. Work Environment Work in a climate-controlled shop, with responsibilities split between the main building and a smaller, separate building housing the powder coating and blast chambers. The paint department consists of approximately 5-10 employees on the first shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waynesboro, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
