Contract-to-hire Gem Care is hiring an experienced Industrial Painter for a company in Knoxville. This position involves preparing and painting components and other large industrial equipment. This is not an entry-level painting position. Applicants must have previous experience operating a pressurized paint pot system. Candidates whose experience is limited to standard spray guns, residential painting, or automotive touch-up work will not be considered. Responsibilities Operate pressurized paint pot systems and industrial spray equipment Apply primers, coatings, and finishes to locomotives and large metal components Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and removing rust or old coatings Mix paints, primers, reducers, and other coating materials according to specifications Adjust air pressure, fluid flow, and spray patterns to achieve proper coverage Inspect completed work for runs, thin coverage, overspray, and other defects Clean and maintain paint pots, spray guns, hoses, and related equipment Follow all safety procedures involving respirators, ventilation, coatings, and hazardous materials Maintain a clean and organized work area Assist with additional production or preparation duties as needed Required Qualifications Previous industrial painting experience Previous hands-on experience using a pressurized paint pot system Knowledge of industrial surface preparation and coating application Ability to work around large equipment and in an industrial environment Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift throughout the shift Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Ability to pass a pre-employment background check Ability to comply with all required pre-employment screening Pressurized paint pot experience is mandatory.
