Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to a variety of metal products, ensuring durability, aesthetic appeal, and compliance with safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, craftsmanship, and teamwork are essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with industrial painting processes, and a passion for maintaining high standards of quality. Responsibilities Prepare metal parts and components for powder coating by cleaning, masking, and surface preparation using hand tools and airless paint spraying equipment. Operate and maintain coating equipment such as spray booths, curing ovens, and powder application systems to ensure consistent application. Manage materials handling tasks including loading parts onto conveyors or carts using forklifts or cranes, ensuring safe and efficient movement within the facility. Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness, coverage, and adherence to specifications. Perform routine maintenance on coating machinery and tools to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Follow safety protocols related to industrial painting, welding, machining, and handling hazardous materials. Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards. Qualifications Prior experience in manufacturing environments with knowledge of industrial or auto body painting is highly desirable. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes; certification is a plus. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication, machining, auto painting, or auto body repair processes. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments accurately for quality control purposes. Experience working with lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction. Warehouse experience or background in construction painting is advantageous but not required.
