Position Description Perform routine and repetitive duties primarily pertaining to cleaning, painting and loading of steel and fabricated products according to company and customer requirements. Duties require the use of dials, rules, gauges, paint, mixers, thinners, cleaning agents, power hand brushes, disk, grinders, spray guns, hooks and chains for crane. Operate paint equipment, select pressures, mix and thin paint for proper viscosity. Paint primer base coats and finish coats as required from paints and/or epoxy. Prepare surfaces for painting, broom sweep, disk, wire brush, grind, and mask off as necessary. Spray paint for proper coverage determined by reading applicable drawings, avoid excessive usage of paint. Be familiar with paint manufacturers recommendations and cleaning/painting specifications for each project. Clean steel and apply coatings accordingly. Assist other cleaner/painters as necessary. Use appropriate cleaning solution provided. Hook for crane to load, unload and turn on skids. Occasionally assist in locating, unloading and/or loading carriers. Keep time, counts, records and other data as required. Detect faulty operations of equipment, defective tools and materials, refer questionable cases to the supervisor. Maintain the work area, tools and equipment in a clean and proper manner. Responsible for the safe storage of paints and thinners, correct labeling of paint waste and keeping records concurrent with usage. Report any spills to supervisor as soon as possible. Follow Company safety guidelines at all time. Detect unsafe conditions and behaviors and immediately report to supervisor. Perform all duties within quality and quantity work requirements. Position Requirements 1. Ability to lift 25+ pounds on continuous basis. 2. Manual dexterity to work with hand tools and operate equipment. 3. Ability to work from ladders and heights. 4. Constant standing, stooping, bending, walking, and reaching required. 5. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment. 6. Ability to be work in a team environment with limited supervision. 7. Ability to work overtime as needed.
