Visit us @ ampunited.com Job Summary The Blaster is responsible for abrading surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart a specified finish. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Remove dirt, paint, grease, and other built-up material from surfaces.
  • Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment.
  • Load and unload the blast cabinet.
  • Assist with painting or coating as needed.
  • Apply and remove non-skid materials as needed. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Previous sandblasting experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a current C-7 certification
  • Must have or be able to obtain a secret clearance
  • Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus.
  • Familiarity with power tools Requirements

  • Follows rules and sets a good example by consistently adhering to appropriate work guidelines; follows organizational plans and guidelines so that objectives can be accomplished.

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of all job knowledge skills, procedures, and processes.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly. Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises.
