Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking motivated, hardworking individuals to join our growing team supporting corrosion mitigation and sustainment operations aboard U.S. Navy vessels. This is a hands-on industrial position involving shipboard surface preparation, cleaning, priming, painting, and corrosion prevention work. No NACE certification required. Training will be provided for specialized corrosion prevention applications including composite materials and select 3M and Valkyrie corrosion mitigation products. Job Duties Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Cleaning exterior ship surfaces including freeboard and superstructure areas affected by rust and corrosion Surface preparation using pneumatic and hand tools such as: Needle guns Grinders Scrapers Wire brushes Priming and painting shipboard surfaces Paint preparation and coating application Installation of composite scuppers and corrosion mitigation materials Application of protective products including 3M PPF systems Corrosion mitigation on ancillary equipment, catwalks, mast areas, davits, and deck edge components General cleaning, preparation, priming, and painting of accessible shipboard areas and equipment Minimum Requirements Applicants must: Must be 18 years of age or older Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. Be able to pass a background check Be able to pass a drug screening Possess or be able to obtain a CAC or DBIDS card Be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs. Be able to stand for extended periods of time Be comfortable climbing ladders and going up/down stairs frequently Be comfortable working at heights Be comfortable working in dark, enclosed, confined, or tight spaces Be able to wear masks and tight-fitting respirators for extended periods Be able to work effectively in a team environment Be dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious Obtain OSHA 10 certification within 15 days of employment (if not already certified) Required PPE Employees are required to maintain and use proper PPE including: Tight-fitting paint respirators Hard hats Steel-toe boots Safety glasses Hearing protection Preferred Qualifications The following certifications/experience are preferred but not required: Boom lift certification Forklift certification Tight-fitting respirator fit certification Previous industrial painting or shipyard experience Experience using pneumatic tools and compressed air systems Training Brinkman Industrial Services will provide job-specific training related to corrosion prevention systems, composite materials, and specialized protective product applications. $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
