Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Paint Shop Tech I is primarily responsible for either preparing surfaces for coating applications or post-finish processing of all painted parts. Assists the painters, team, and other departments as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Utilize hand and power tools to prepare surfaces for coating application and for post-finish processing of finished goods per our SOP Clean, hang parts on racks, and move racks in and out of the paint booth to assist the painter as needed Inspect parts for pre and post-paint application for quality control Package and box finished parts for shipping Assist other Paint Shop Technicians as needed to support production flow Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area in accordance with 6S standards Communicate questions or concerns to supervisors to ensure tasks are understood and completed correctly Professionally perform all duties, working well with others, providing and receiving feedback, and treating all team members with respectREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Attention to detail with the ability to see and become attentive to imperfections for quality purposes Self-starter - ability to work with minimal supervision Demonstrate best practices to follow all safe procedures and utilize all required PPE Basic knowledge of hand tools Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions Reliable and consistent attendance, including punctualityPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to move frequently throughout the work cell and shop floor Ability to lift up to 35 pounds Ability to stand, walk, and work up to 12-hour shifts, with occasional overtime as requiredWORK ENVIRONMENT
