Job Title:
Paint Prepper - 1st Shift Job Description The Paint Prepper prepares parts for industrial blasting and painting by cleaning, masking, racking, and staging them in paint booths, and may also handle parts after painting to remove masking and ensure quality presentation. Responsibilities Wash and clean parts thoroughly to prepare them for blasting and painting processes. Tape and mask areas of parts that should not be painted or blasted, following detailed instructions. Rack and stage parts in the appropriate paint or blast booths in an organized and efficient manner. Handle parts after painting, including unmasking and preparing them for the next stage of production or shipment. Follow established procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent quality and safety. Maintain a clean and orderly work area within the paint and coatings shop. Work safely around industrial painting, sandblasting, and powder coating equipment. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support production schedules. Communicate effectively with blasters, painters, and other team members to coordinate workflow. Lift and move parts weighing up to 75 pounds as needed throughout the shift. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in a paint prep role, preferably in an industrial environment, with consideration given to commercial experience. Hands-on experience with paint preparation tasks such as cleaning, masking, and staging parts. Familiarity with industrial painting, sandblasting, and powder coating processes. Ability to lift and handle items up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly. Strong attendance record with a demonstrated commitment to showing up to work each day. Willingness to be coachable and follow proper procedures and guidelines. Ability to work effectively in an industrial paint and coatings environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial paint and coatings shop that processes a variety of outsourced parts for industrial equipment. The environment involves exposure to painting, sandblasting, and powder coating operations, while maintaining a clean and relatively quiet workspace compared to many industrial settings. The position is primarily for 1st shift, with typical hours of either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is also a 2nd shift option from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Team members work on their feet and handle parts throughout the shift, using standard industrial equipment and following safety procedures appropriate for a paint and coatings facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Green Bay, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
