Job Description

Overview:

This position is a hybrid hands-on role assisting with boat launching and haul out during spring and fall, but during the off season, this role is focused in the paint department. The Paint and Fiberglass technician reports to the paint department supervisor. Daily responsibilities include, but is not limited to, fiberglass repair, restoring gelcoat, sanding and preparing vessels for paint, painting vessel components, and preparing and varnishing wood components. This team member is immersed in the fast-paced environment of our paint department and is responsible for a number of duties and responsibilities to assist the team in achieving common goals as they are assigned. Key Tasks Review work orders with assigned tasks and communicate with the service team effectively on service work to be performed Employ proper fiberglass repair techniques Utilize proper painting preparation and spray techniques Perform proper multi-step gelcoat correction techniques Apply proper sanding, wood preparation, and varnishing techniques Fabricate and design different fiberglass and wooden components as necessary Assist machine operators in hauling, pressure cleaning, decommissioning, and setting boats in place for the offseason Assist machine operators in launching vessels in the spring Assist travel lift operator and/or run travel lift Boat rigging Other tasks as assigned Key Results Accurate and timely work completion Detailed work order descriptions Detail oriented work Daily tasks completed with a high level of professionalism and quality Positive attitude and team player Key Experience Previous experience in a body shop or paint shop in the automotive industry, or a related field, is strongly preferred A technical degree or certification in automotive body repair, paint, or a related field is encouraged Experience working in a fast-paced team setting Experience operating or assisting in operation of a travel lift, forklift, scissor lift Experience working with digital time management systems and parts management systems. Boat experience a plus Ability to lift 40+ pounds

Valid Driver's License Pay:

$21.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
