Job Description
Position summary: Merrill Steel has an in-house 150,000 square foot climate-controlled paint shop allowing the painters to paint columns, trusses, I-beams and other structural steel surfaces using airless high-pressure paint guns. The types of paint applied include zinc, epoxy, and urethane. Projects also require complex coating systems such as corrosion resistant coatings and intumescent fire protection. Employees must be able to occasionally lift material weighing as much as 75lbs. We have an opening on 2nd shift. We at Merrill Steel have been working hard to make sure that our company is a place you want to come to work at each day. Over the past few years, we have initiated a lot of change. The next generation of ownership has become an ever-growing presence at the company. Our Plant Manager, Supervisors, and Leads meet with Human Resources on a weekly basis to talk about ways to improve our shop culture. We even have an Production HR Facilitator whose office is located out in the shop to easily assist employees.
