An Automation Controls Technician at Pacific Seafood - Kodiak is a key role on our Processing Plant team supporting efforts to ensure the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our facilities and infrastructure. This position involves implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control systems for industrial automation. They are responsible for ensuring efficient and effective operation of machinery, equipment, and processes. Reporting To Cody Campbell Key Responsibilities Troubleshooting and Repairing:
Electrical Controls Wiring, 0-24 volt Controls System voltages 4-20mA Current Loops, 0-10VDC circuits, Sensors, Encoders, etc. Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi Devices and PLC's, Innova DCS Industrial Networks, Ethernet IP, Modbus, TCP/IP, EtherCAT Electro-pneumatic and Electro-hydraulic controls Robot Controllers, FANUC, and related systems and components VFD Operation and Configuration Direct Electricians on Automation Related Systems of Higher Voltages
SCADA/HMI
systems for monitoring and controlling industrial processes Other programs, as assigned
Process Improvement and Task Management:
Evaluate systems or processes for opportunities to improve reliability and performance. Recommend Identified improvements to Automation Controls Engineer(s) for Production Improvements. Work with Controls Engineers on
HMI/SCADA
development/refinement. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position. What you bring to Pacific Seafood Education and Experience Required High School Diploma/GED equivalent High level computer capability; familiarity with Microsoft Office and various technical apps. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Some background in Electrical theory, Electronics, or related field. Ability to safely work in industrial environments. Must be self-driven and proactive, capable of good task prioritization and execution. Excellent follow through, judgment, and common sense. "Make it happen" attitude. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure. Ability to travel as needed, while knowing the intent is to minimize travel as much as possible. Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to Industrial Controls and Systems. Familiarity of, and compliance with OSHA safety regulations, environmental standards, and other relevant policies and procedures. Preferred 2-4 years' experience in a E&I technician role Associate's degree or certification in electrical/electronic technology or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Field, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Working Conditions The working environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to: Office, as well as manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level in the work environment. Plant exposure to wet, cold, and/or humid temperatures. Standard office equipment and heavy machinery.
