Requirements:
5+ years minimum in industrial maintenance, controls, automation,or a related technical field, PLC, HMI, VFD, maintenance , troubleshooting electrical systems, exp in a Manufacturing Environment Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Automation and Controls Technician to support and improve automated production systems within a fast-paced industrial environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with strong experience in industrial controls, PLCs, electrical troubleshooting, and automation who enjoys solving complex equipment challenges and driving continuous improvement. The Senior Controls & Automation Technician will play a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting automation initiatives across the facility. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automated systems. Diagnose issues involving electrical controls, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial networks. Modify and optimize PLC and HMI programs to improve operational efficiency and equipment performance. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery and control systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical documentation. Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment and automation projects. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures. Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams on process improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable industry regulations.
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years experience as an Automation or Controls Technician, with progressive responsibility in industrial environments. Strong PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell experience preferred). Hands-on experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and industrial control systems. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V. Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control wiring diagrams. Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment.

Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or a related field. Experience with robotics and automated manufacturing equipment. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, or Profinet.
