Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Prover Technician I/Liquid Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the verification and calibration of flow meters used in custody transfer, ensuring accurate measurement and regulatory compliance. This is a field-based role requiring travel to client sites and working in a variety of environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain meter proving equipment (portable and stationary) Perform meter proving activities for liquid and/or gas meters according to industry standards Ensure accurate data collection and complete detailed reports for each proving job Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of metering systems and provers Comply with safety protocols, company procedures, and customer requirements Maintain communication with customers and internal teams regarding job status and findings Keep accurate inventory and maintenance records for equipment Travel to various client locations as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate's degree preferred 1+ years of relevant field experience, preferably in oil & gas or utilities Knowledge of API, AGA, or ISO standards for meter proving Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fluid measurement systems Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and interpret measurement data Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with mobile provers or master meters Familiarity with electronic flow measurement (EFM) systems DOT Operator Qualification (OQ) certification
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Field-based work in varying weather and industrial conditions Lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs Standing, bending, climbing, and walking for extended periods
