Full Job Description Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Controls Technician to join our team in Rocky Hill, CT. This position is primarily shop-based and responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and support of industrial control panels, power distribution equipment, and automation systems. The ideal candidate will have experience reading electrical schematics, wiring control panels, troubleshooting electrical systems, and working with PLCs, VFDs, and related industrial automation equipment. Primary Responsibilities Assemble and wire industrial control panels and electrical enclosures. Install and connect electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, power supplies, circuit breakers, and control devices. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. Perform point-to-point wiring and panel testing. Troubleshoot electrical and control systems. Assist engineering with prototype builds, design improvements, and problem resolution. Support UL508A panel manufacturing requirements and documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Operate hand tools and power tools required for panel assembly and fabrication.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field preferred. 3-10 years of experience in electrical assembly, controls, automation, or panel building. Experience with PLCs, VFDs, industrial controls, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of NEC and UL508A preferred. Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters and megohmmeters. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
