Job Description

Job Title:
Controls Technician Key Responsibilities Install, commission, and service new and existing packaging equipment at customer sites Troubleshoot and support PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Codesys, SCL) Diagnose and resolve electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to restore machine performance Perform equipment audits to assess performance, reliability, and compliance Modify and update control software and firmware for upgrades and custom applications Maintain accurate service documentation and machine configurations Provide on-site customer support and technical guidance Train customers and operators on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety Lead or coordinate field activities when assigned, collaborating with internal teams and customer personnel Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering or 2+ years of vocational training in Electromechanical Systems Minimum 3 years of experience in OEM environments working with PLC and motion control systems Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, controls, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems Experience with industrial controls programming and system integration Ability to safely modify and implement control system updates Willingness to travel 75-80% (domestic and occasional international), including extended stays Work Environment This is a highly travel-based, field service role with work performed primarily at customer sites. The position involves regular interaction with operators, maintenance teams, and engineering groups, and requires strict adherence to site safety protocols and PPE requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Oldsmar, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $83200.00
