Controls Technician III Location:
Atlanta, GA. (75% out of state travel)
Pay:
$100k to $130k base +profit+ sponsored Ignition cert This one suits a controls technician who likes being on site when a system is being brought to life, and who would rather commission a new build than sit on a service ticket queue. The work is installing controllers and panels, terminating field devices, running point-to-point checkout, calibrating, and coordinating with the general contractor and the mechanical subs to keep the controls scope on program. What you will do BMS and EPMS startup and commissioning on new-build data center facilities, working to project schedule. Low voltage panel construction and cable termination (RS-232, RS-485, CAT 5/6). Software and hardware calibration across the control system. Troubleshooting live systems in a mission-critical environment where downtime carries real cost.
Working across open protocols:
BACnet IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU. What you will need 5+ years hands-on controls field experience. Tech III is a senior, independent level. Comfortable terminating and troubleshooting to component level. Electrical competence in a 120 to 480V environment. Authorized to work in the US and able to pass State and Federal security screening. Genuinely willing to travel 75% and be on site in Atlanta the rest of the time. Genuine commissioning and startup experience.
