Job Description

Job Title:
Industrial Controls Technician (Night Shift)
Location:
Buffalo Grove, IL Pay:
$35-45/hr (6pm-6am)
Rotating Position Overview:
The Industrial Controls Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical, controls, and communication issues on complex production lines. This role supports PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, VFDs, servo drives, industrial networks, and vision inspection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and automated production equipmentSupport mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshootingSet up and troubleshoot motion control systems and VFDsMaintain and troubleshoot in-line vision systems (Cognex)Perform PLC and HMI software upgrades and verificationRead and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsDocument work performed in a regulated environmentAssist engineers with automation upgrades and solutionsTrain technicians and operators on equipment and processesFollow safety and electrical procedures
Qualifications:
6+ years of industrial controls troubleshooting experienceExperience with PLCs, HMIs, motion control, VFDs, and servo systemsAbility to read electrical schematics and automated system drawingsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredAssociate degree or technical training in Industrial Controls or related field preferredExperience with RSLogix, FactoryTalk, Ignition, Cognex, or Siemens S7 is a plus
