Job Description

Automation and Controls TechnicianA growing engineering organization is seeking an Automation and Controls Technician with a broad technical background, including
PLC/HMI/SCADA
programming, robotics integration, and industrial hardware selection and interfacing.

The ideal candidate will bring 2+ years of experience and a diverse skill set, supporting multiple project teams across a range of automation and controls applications.

Controls ResponsibilitiesDevelop PLC and
HMI/SCADA
programs using industry-standard programming languages to control machinery and industrial processesEstablish communication between devices and systemsInterface with sensors and actuatorsInterface with both industrial and collaborative robotic systemsUtilize communication protocols and buses such as CAN, IO-Link, DH+, and EtherNet/IPDesign and implement control strategies for hydraulic systemsDesign and implement control strategies for mechanical systemsApply control theory principles including PID tuning and stability analysisWork with a wide variety of feedback devicesExperience with multiple controls hardware platformsIdentify and implement suitable replacements for obsolete hardwareSoftware & Design Tools (Plus)AutoCAD ElectricalEPLANSolidWorksGeneral QualificationsStrong organizational and communication skillsDetail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesBroad interests and skill set with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentWillingness and ability to provide onsite technical supportFamiliarity with applicable codes and compliance requirements
