Controls Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to work on the 1st shift. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment. You will spend approximately 60% of your time addressing immediate issues, 25% working on projects, and 15% mentoring and coaching junior maintenance technicians. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills are required, including proficiency with 480v 3-phase systems, schematic reading, and equipment installation and decommissioning. The ability to modify PLC logic and perform basic programming for cameras and vision systems is essential. Experience with drives, remote access, and HMI access is advantageous. The role also involves training and developing other maintenance technicians. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment. Spend 60% of time addressing immediate issues and 25% on projects. Mentor and coach lower-level maintenance technicians. Troubleshoot electrically up to 480v 3-phase. Read schematics and symbols. Perform equipment installation and decommissioning. Modify PLC logic and add/remove devices. Read and follow ladder logic. Check inputs/outputs and verify instrumentation. Troubleshoot and perform basic programming for cameras and vision systems. Replace drives and download/upload parameters. Access machinery remotely and through HMI for troubleshooting or installations. Train and develop other maintenance technicians to improve their skills. Essential Skills 10+ years of Industrial Multi-craft Maintenance Experience. 4-5+ years of experience as a Controls Technician/Electrician. Ability to troubleshoot motors, gears, and repacks for robots. Proficiency in troubleshooting up to 480v 3-phase systems. Ability to read schematics and symbols. Experience with LOTO, voltmeter, troubleshooting VFDs, motors, and electrical components. Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, editing, and light programming. Robotic programming experience such as teach pendants and sequencing out. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's degree in industrial trades or electrical programs. Ability to program PLC or Robotics from scratch. Experience with new equipment installations or machine line upgrades. Why Work Here?
