We provide HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, and building automation solutions for commercial and industrial customers, with a strong focus on quality work, long-term relationships, and taking care of our people and clients. Five Star Mechanical has an opportunity for a Controls Engineer to join our team. We are looking for an innovative, detail-oriented individual who enjoys solving problems, designing systems, improving performance, and working with teams to deliver successful projects and solutions for our customers. This role works closely with team members, building owners, engineers, contractors, and project teams to support the design, programming, implementation, commissioning, and documentation of building automation systems.
What this opportunity could involve:
Designing and developing building automation and control system solutions Supporting programming, configuration planning, and system integration Identifying system optimization and performance improvement opportunities Preparing project documentation, submittals, and as-built information Supporting estimating and specification development activities Assisting with startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities Coordinating with project managers, technicians, customers, and project teams What we are looking for: Experience with HVAC controls, building automation systems, and DDC controls Knowledge of mechanical systems including chillers, boilers, pumps, air handlers, and related equipment Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited program (BSME or BSEE preferred; other engineering disciplines considered) Experience with drafting software; Visio experience preferred or similar software proficiency Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Ability to read construction plans, submittals, and technical documentation Understanding of construction and contracting processes Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, controls programming, networking concepts, or related technologies is a plus Valid driver's license and ability to meet safety requirements for construction job sites Five Star is a great place to build a career. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
