Job Description
Header Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Controls Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This position is located in Henderson, KY on PM shift. In this role, you will be responsible for providing electrical and maintenance services and support to Henderson Plant. Performs various types of mechanical and electrical work on production machinery and equipment, as well as perform facility maintenance functions. May work alone or in teams, they must collaborate to solve problems, be responsive to their customers and take the initiative required to ensure that machines and equipment functioning are optimized. Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues across a variety of machinery and control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, and electrical instrumentation. Removing, replacing, and/or repairing manual, automatic or semi-automatic production machines, robotic equipment, and maintenance equipment. Identifying specific vendors for tasks and ordering parts for machines and equipment repairs. Read and interpret electrical schematics, and technical blueprints to accurately identify faults and implement solutions. Perform calibration and testing of electrical components using precision measuring instruments and calibration tools to ensure system accuracy. Maintain and repair industrial automation systems, including distributed control systems (DCS), vision inspection systems, CNC machinery, and high/low voltage electrical systems. Install, modify, and upgrade electrical controls for manufacturing equipment while adhering to electrical safety procedures and industry standards. Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems, pneumatic systems, hydraulic components, and mechanical parts to minimize downtime. Collaborate with engineering teams on programming in engineering environments for system design improvements or modifications. Support field service activities by troubleshooting equipment in various locations within the facility or at customer sites as needed. Experience Proven experience as an industrial electrician or controls technician within manufacturing or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic systems, sensors, electrical troubleshooting techniques, and equipment maintenance practices. Hands-on experience reading electrical schematics, blueprints (including P&IDs), wiring diagrams, and schematics related to industrial controls. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and automation programming in engineering environments. Experience with calibration procedures for sensors and instrumentation used in industrial automation. Knowledge of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems along with electrical safety procedures applicable to industrial settings. Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments such as ohmmeters for accurate diagnostics. Prior exposure to AutoCAD or similar software for system design or modifications is preferred. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently while maintaining safety standards in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
