The Controls Engineering Technician Lead is subject to 'on-call' rotation assignment.] Job Summary Reporting directly to the Controls Engineering Manager, this position serves as the senior technical resource for complex BAS programming, system integration, troubleshooting, and optimization; Helping to define standards and best practices for the University of Kentucky - Lexington Campus and UK Enterprise Controls Systems; Leads analysis and optimization of BAS-controlled systems through trend analysis, sequence refinement, and system performance evaluation; Supports systems installed for BAS; Security; Fire Alarm; Elevator; and Swisslog databases; Leads complex BAS upgrades, programming modifications, and integration efforts; Ensures programming and sequence changes to building controls systems are engineer approved and backed up daily to protect data and avoid critical catastrophic loss; Provides technical guidance and employs training expertise when overseeing and mentoring controls engineering technician associates and leads. In addition, the Controls Engineering Technician Senior leads Integration and Interface Development; Designs and develops large scale, advanced, Graphical User Interfaces for BAS; Adds new buildings, plants, and controls systems to the Building Automation System (BAS), Security, Fire Alarm, and Elevator Monitoring Systems as they come online for the UK Enterprise; . Oversees the development and implementation of new BAS graphical interfaces as needed to support system operations, troubleshooting, and accurate representation of equipment in the field.
