POSITION SUMMARY
The Measurement Technician ensures oil and gas measurement accuracy and integrity by managing measurement programs, including frequency, sampling, reporting, and documentation, in compliance with State and Federal regulations.JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install maintain and calibrate turbine, Coriolis, ultrasonic, and orifice meters
- Install, maintain and calibration of pressure, temperature and other transmitters
- Install and maintain radio and cell communications
- Calibrate analyzers, turbines, Coriolis, and gas chromatographs
- Make orifice plate changes to accommodate customer flow rates
- Resolve measurement issues, including accounting for unaccounted for product
- Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment components and perform maintenance as necessary
- Ability to monitor and analyze measurement data and the ability to react to data
- Interface with gas control and plant operations
- Install, and maintain various flow computers
- Interface with customers and all other crafts
- Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and associated software
- Must be an initiative-taker and be able to prioritize work based on business needs
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Make any or all repairs as deemed reasonable and safe
- Maintain accurate records including shutdown and safety checks
- Maintain all required documentation for process safety management
- Operate a company vehicle
- Always maintain the company vehicle to ensure equipment safety
- Maintain tools and equipment issued
- Work weekends and overtime on an as needed basis
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Interpersonal communication skills are required to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work team
- Must become proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasks
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives
- Regular and reliable attendance is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two-year associates degree in instrumentation or equivalent on the job training
- Two years' experience in petrochemical industry
- Experience working in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 50lbs.
- Ability to work in changing climate conditions
- Able to work in close quarters
- Must be able to work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing and standing
