Job Description

This role is a travel role to Haskell, Texas Summary The Commissioning Specialist supports commercial construction projects by commissioning HVAC and mechanical systems. This role is responsible for system testing, startup, troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination with project teams, contractors, and building owners to ensure systems perform as designed. Key Responsibilities Perform commissioning, startup, testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC and mechanical systems. Review plans, specifications, submittals, and controls drawings. Coordinate commissioning activities with project managers, technicians, contractors, and owners. Conduct field inspections and witness equipment startup and functional testing. Maintain commissioning reports, checklists, and documentation. Investigate system performance issues and support corrective actions. Assist with BAS/BMS controls integration and troubleshooting. Support TAB activities and system performance verification. Communicate project status, risks, and commissioning progress to stakeholders. Required Qualifications General knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems. Understanding of commissioning processes and documentation. Ability to read mechanical plans and specifications. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work independently in construction and office environments. Preferred Qualifications 1-5 years of HVAC, mechanical construction, commissioning, controls, or related experience. Experience with mechanical system startup and functional testing. Familiarity with BAS/BMS and HVAC controls systems. Experience working with contractors, project teams, and building owners. Exposure to TAB processes and controls one-line drawings. Work Environment This role is based onsite in Haskell, Texas , within an active construction and building systems environment. The Commissioning Specialist works in both field and office settings, spending significant time at project sites to observe installations, perform testing, and interact with technicians and project teams. The work involves close collaboration with construction personnel, building owners, and internal project staff, and requires comfort working around mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, and control systems. The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, with schedules and priorities that may shift based on construction progress and commissioning needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $49.00/hr.
