WHAT YOU'LL DO
Identify, diagnose, and correct control system faults across hardware, software, and I/O devices to minimize production disruptions Write, modify, and maintain programs for PLC-controlled machinery - both existing equipment and new installations Repair and restore production equipment spanning electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including high-voltage circuits (220-440 VAC) Collaborate with floor associates to pinpoint root causes of equipment failures and performance issues Gather and interpret operational data to support downtime reduction, cost-of-poor-quality initiatives, and process improvements Contribute to engineering projects across all phases: planning, equipment installation, commissioning, and validation Coordinate with vendors, the tool room, and maintenance on tooling prints and fixture development Build and maintain accurate machine records, wiring schematics, and technical documentation Author and update Work Instructions, Visual Aids, Process Trial Reports, and gauge procedures Assess electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components for compatibility and performance in plant applications Lead and support continuous improvement activities focused on error-proofing, scrap reduction, and manufacturability Remain composed and communicate clearly in fast-paced, time-critical production situations Provide coverage across shifts as operational needs dictate
WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years of experience diagnosing and programming PLC systems (Omron, Siemens, and/or Allen Bradley strongly preferred) Solid understanding of IATF 16949 and core quality tools:
SPC, APQP, PFMEA, MSA

EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
High School Diploma or GED required Two-year degree, technical certificate, or equivalent in Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering field preferred Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or automotive production environment Experience with extrusion technologies, tooling, or machine design is a significant plus
