Controls Technician

• Jackson, MS Our client is a well-established mechanical services and engineering organization with over 100 years of success and a rapidly growing presence in the data center and mission-critical construction space.

They are seeking multiple Controls Technicians with experience supporting data center infrastructure, controls, automation, and electrical systems. This role supports ground-up data center construction, controls integration, startup, and commissioning projects across the U.S. And involves 50

• 75% travel, typically in 1
• 2-week assignments.

Responsibilities:

Perform startup, checkout, systems integration, functional testing, and commissioning of EPMS, SCADA, and control systemsConfigure and support Ignition SCADA platforms for monitoring and control of data center electrical systemsProgram and troubleshoot PLCs, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms, and associated control hardwareConfigure and integrate HMIs, industrial PCs (IPCs), power quality meters (PQMs), and managed network switchesConfigure and troubleshoot industrial networking and communication protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP, and IP addressingRead and interpret electrical schematics, electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and control diagramsSupport electrical power monitoring, controls integration, and automation systems within data center and mission-critical environmentsUtilize Procore or similar construction management tools to track project progress and documentationCollaborate with Engineering and Project Teams to resolve design and field issuesAssist with functional testing, system validation, controls commissioning, and commissioning documentation

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in controls, automation, or electrical systemsExperience supporting data center, mission-critical, or industrial environmentsHands-on experience with PLC programming and/or SCADA systems, including Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, or similar platformsExperience with electrical systems and power monitoringExperience with networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, network switches, and communication protocolsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and control schematicsAbility to travel 50
