Job Description

Marvin is seeking an Automation Controls Supervisor to lead a team responsible for the design, programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of automation systems in our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will oversee PLC, HMI, and motion control systems, ensure equipment reliability, and drive safety, quality, and throughput improvements. You'll plan and prioritize controls projects, coordinate maintenance support, and partner with engineering, production, and safety teams. Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of controls technicians/engineers supporting manufacturing operations Oversee PLC, HMI, motion control, and related automation systems to maximize uptime and performance Plan, prioritize, and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, and productivity Troubleshoot complex automation and electrical issues, coordinating with maintenance as needed Develop and maintain standards, documentation, and backups for controls systems Collaborate with engineering, production, and safety teams on new equipment and process changes Implement and support data collection, monitoring, and reporting from automated systems Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, safety, and industry standards Support continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for recurring issues Train operators and maintenance staff on proper use and basic troubleshooting of automation systems Required Skills PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Siemens)
