Join a leading building automation contractor where your technical expertise will drive the success of cutting-edge commercial HVAC control systems. Controls Technician $40 - $55 per hour Pennsauken, New Jersey Direct Hire - Full-Time A well-established building automation and controls contractor is seeking an experienced Controls Technician to join their growing team in New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Controls Technician who enjoys working in the field, troubleshooting complex building automation systems, and supporting the successful delivery of commercial HVAC controls projects. You'll play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, wired, commissioned, and operating correctly before being handed over to programming and project teams. The Role Install, troubleshoot, and service Building Automation Systems (BAS) across commercial and industrial facilities Diagnose and resolve control wiring, communication, and device issues Pull and install low-voltage control wiring from start point to end point Terminate wiring at controllers, field devices, panels, and control equipment Perform controller setup and verification prior to programming activities Support system startup, testing, and commissioning activities Troubleshoot network communication issues between controllers and field devices Work closely with remote programmers to ensure systems are configured and operating correctly Troubleshoot and service boilers and burners Verify control sequences and system functionality before project handover Complete service reports, commissioning documentation, and project records About You Previous experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS) or HVAC controls Strong understanding of control wiring, controller installation, and commissioning Experience troubleshooting communication and field device issues Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara (essential) Experience with Distech (highly desirable) Experience with Siemens Desigo and/or Honeywell systems (preferred) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Comfortable working independently while collaborating with project teams and remote programmers What's on Offer $40 - $55 per hour depending on experience Competitive benefits package Stable, long-term opportunity with a growing building automation business Opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and industrial BAS projects Exposure to leading BAS technologies including Niagara, Distech, Siemens, and Honeywell Supportive team environment with opportunities for career progression and technical development Apply To apply for the Controls Technician role, please apply through Indeed.
