Utilizing established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data. Write technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations. Some machining is required based on complexity and/or experience. Typically reports to the R D Engineer or Engineering Manager. Major Duties and Responsibilities ? Maintaining a positive attitude, attendance, and following the safety regulations set forth within the "Employee Safety Handbook" while maintaining a safe and orderly environment. ? Testing, data recording and analysis of new product development and/or existing product lines. ? Assist in training departments on new product development. ? Troubleshoot issues on production floor supporting Engineering and Quality departments. ? Read, understand, modify and produce engineering drawings and instructions. ? Machines parts by turning, boring, threading drilling, and milling of various metals. Repairs and modifies parts by using machine tool practice techniques and appropriate metal machining equipment. ? Inspect parts to an engineering drawing using tools such as calipers and micrometers. ? Understand and follow Quality procedures to ensure traceability and consistency. ? The noise level in the environment is loud; hearing and eye protection is mandatory. ? Perform any tasks outside of this scope within his/her competence as directed by the engineering manager or upper management. Minimum Requirements ? Mechanical Aptitude - Must be able to understand and work on mechanical systems with an emphasis on pneumatic or hydraulic systems. ? Have relief valve, control valve, regulator, and other industry valve assembly, repair, and test knowledge. ? Clear documentation and computation skills. ? Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable. ? Attention and care are required to prevent injury to others when performing maintenance work. ? Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and working in overhead structures. Considerable noise and metal chips are emitted from work, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment. Exposed to moderate burns and exposed to flying objects, such as chips, broken tooling, and parts. ? Accident hazard can involve severe cuts and bruises. Jobsites must be carefully monitored to prevent injury to others from flying chips. Situational awareness is of vital importance to the position and those around them. ? Must be a self-starter, motivated contributor in a team environment, capable of high-level work output. Must have excellent social and interpersonal skills and must be able to take directions, guidance, and work well within the cooperative culture of the TVT Engineering group. Education and Experience ? Preferably, associate's degree from a college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
