Job Description
About the Role As an Industrial Automation Controls Technician, you will serve as a critical technical resource, ensuring the peak performance and reliability of our complex automated manufacturing systems. You will leverage your expertise in robotics and PLC programming to drive continuous improvement, minimize downtime, and optimize production efficiency across our facility. Responsibilities Execute comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize the lifespan and reliability of automated machinery. Design, program, and troubleshoot complex industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotic controllers, to enhance operational output. Lead Root Cause Analysis initiatives to identify and permanently resolve recurring equipment failures or process inefficiencies. Develop and maintain precise electrical schematics and documentation to support ongoing system modifications and upgrades. Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial instrumentation, sensors, and drive systems to ensure high-precision production standards. Provide technical training and guidance to production staff, empowering them to operate and maintain automation equipment effectively. Collaborate within cross-functional teams to implement innovative automation solutions that streamline manufacturing workflows. Qualifications Required Skills Associate degree in a technical field (Electrical, Electronics, or Electro-Mechanical) or 3+ years of equivalent industrial experience. Demonstrated proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Fanuc robotic systems and PLC platforms. Strong ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and utilize precision diagnostic tools. Proven problem-solving skills with a focus on maintaining safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Effective communication skills to document technical issues and train team members. Preferred Skills Hands-on experience with SCADA systems, Ignition, or Wonderware software. Familiarity with industrial networks, vision systems, RFID scanners, and VFDs. Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments focusing on continuous improvement.
