We are looking for a motivated Junior Field Controls Technician who is eager to learn, grow, and build a career in Industrial Automation. This position offers a unique balance of remote/home office work and hands-on field service , allowing you to develop both technical knowledge and real-world field experience. What You'll Do As a Junior Field Controls Technician, you will assist with: Electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) installation, startup, and diagnostics Instrumentation installation and calibration PLC troubleshooting and programming support SCADA system support RTAC configuration and troubleshooting Control panel testing and commissioning Reading electrical drawings and control schematics Industrial networking support Equipment startup and field commissioning Technical documentation and service reports Technologies You'll Work With Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs Schneider Electric PLCs and control systemsSEL RTAC
VTScada Ignition FactoryTalk View Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Industrial instrumentation Industrial Ethernet networks Water & Wastewater Treatment control systems Solar power plants Distribution and Fulfillment Centers Desired Qualifications Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required : PLC programming SCADA systems (VTScada, Ignition, or FactoryTalk View) Industrial networking Python programming Electrical troubleshooting Control panels VFDs Instrument calibration Low-voltage wiring and troubleshooting If you have a strong electrical background and are willing to learn, we encourage you to apply. Recent graduates from Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or Industrial Maintenance programs are encouraged to apply. Travel Expectations Most field work will be local, primarily within Manatee County and DeSoto County , with occasional travel to nearby project sites as needed. Occasional overnight travel may be required depending on project location, commissioning schedules, or customer needs.
