Job Description
KEY TASKS
- Troubleshoot PLC systems, such as Rockwell and Mitsubishi
- Program and troubleshoot Fanuc Robots on a basic level
- Configure and troubleshoot Servo and VFD systems, including SEW, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi
- Configure and troubleshoot HMI systems
- Train and assist electricians to troubleshoot, repair, replace, and commission all electrical control devices, including AC drives, DC drives, and Servo Controllers, contactors, motors, breakers, solenoids, and power supplies
- Train and assist electricians to troubleshoot PLC and HMI hardware, including processors, discrete and analog IO cards, power supplies, network adapters, distributed IO, message displays, PC based interfaces, and operator interfaces such as PanelView
- Provide direction, assistance, and training to maintenance electricians in other technical areas, as needed
- Assist with basic maintenance of networking and communications, such as DeviceNet, ControlNet and Ethernet/IP.
- Plan and coordinate engineering project work with team members
- Engage in project commissioning and start-up work
- Troubleshoot automation systems and assist with other aspects of electrical or controls projects as necessary
- Root cause analysis of severe downtime incidents
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or relevant field required
Years of Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in Engineering, Robotics, or relevant technical role required
Other Requirements:
- Regular and predictable attendance required
- Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities
- Overtime may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
- Understanding of typical manufacturing interfaces and processes, such as between the glass process, the controls, and the robotics that allow working in concert
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Effective ability to lead, direct, and instruct others of tasks and processes
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
